Sanibel real estate blog: Naples median price leads the way

In a national report issued by the National Realtors Association on Tuesday, Naples, Florida was one of the top regions with double digit increases in median price points on a single-family home. The second quarter found Naples-Marco Island area to have 16.8% change upwardly since 2013. The current median price in that area is $405,000. Orlando was also a top region on the list with a 13% increase and median price is $ 182,000. The highest increase in the country was in Salem, Oregon with a 24.9% increase and a median price range of $ 200,400.

Nationwide, the median price rose 4.4% to $212,400. That increase is the smallest annual gain in two years. The NAR chief economist, Lawrence Yun, says “the market is moving from being somewhat heated to a balanced market.” He continues,” We’re returning to more moderate middle ground. Inventory continues to rise, remaining areas with double-digit gains should see price gains return to earth within the next two quarters, with 2015 increases mirroring income growth.”
