Sanibel Real estate blog: 15th consecutive month of increase

The statewide housing market continues to show signs of recovery- March was the 15th consecutive month that we saw an increase in the median  sale price for both single-family homes and condos. The statewide March median sales price for a single family home was $ $160,000 up 15.2% from the previous year. In Lee County, the median sales price for March was $168,000- up a whopping 29.2% from March 2012.  The statewide median condo sale price was $120,000- again up 15.9% from the previous year.

The Florida Realtor Association stats show that 19,361 homes sold in March and that is a 9 % increase from last year at this time. Closed condo sales came in at 9957, up slightly at 1.1 %.

Economists are saying the housing market should see continued growth. We are still seeing some pretty fantastic mortage interest rates- also adding to the growth.
